FACTORS INFLUENCING REWARD MANAGEMENT AMONG SMALL AND MEDIUM SIZED ENTERPRISES IN KENYA: A CASE OF CAROGA PHARMA LTD

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to establish thefactors influencing reward management among small and medium sized enterprises in Kenya: A case of Caroga Pharma Ltd. The study was guided by the following objectives: to establish the effects of organizational culture on reward management at Caroga pharma Ltd; to find out the effect of performance management on reward management at Caroga pharma Ltd; to establish the effects of job design on reward management at Caroga pharma Ltd; to assess the effect of government policies on reward management at Caroga pharma Ltd.The study was underpinned on the theory of Visionary Leadership. It was also guided by a conceptual framework that showed the relationship between independent and dependent variables. The study employed descriptive survey design. The target population was 32 employees from Caroga Pharma Ltd. The sample size was 32 individuals who were selected using census design where the entire target population was taken for a sample since the target population was small and manageable. Self-administered questionnaires were used to collect the data. The study established that the organizational culture, performance management, job design and government policies had profound effect on the reward management at Caroga Pharma Ltd. The study recommended that the management of companies and the government need to come up with policies that reward management is effective in motivating workers to be more productive.
